The 2008 Varsity National Championship seeding and brackets were released on Tuesday, March 25.

For hunter seat, Oklahoma State received the number one seed with a 10-2 record. Also receiving first round byes are Texas A&M (2), Georgia (3) and University of South Carolina (4). The first round will have the following matches: Auburn (5) vs Stephen F. Austin (12), Baylor (6) vs University of Tennessee Martin (11), Kansas State (7) vs Delaware State (10), and Fresno State (8) vs New Mexico State (9).

For the western division, Texas Christian University was voted the number one seed with a 10-0 record for 2008. TCU along with Georgia (2), Oklahoma State (3) and Texas A&M (4) will receive first round byes. In the first round, Kansas State (5) will meet University of Tennessee Martin (12), University of South Carolina (6) will meet Stephen F. Austin (11), Auburn (7) will meet Fresno State (10) and New Mexico State (8) will meet Baylor (9). Individual championship contenders in their respective event include:
